PARK INFORMATION
ADDRESS:
15520 Ivanhoe Dr., Visalia, CA
BACKGROUND:
Cutler Park is a large municipal park at the eastern end of the city of Visalia near Venice Hills. The park covers 50 acres of land and is home a large valley oak woodland. In 1919, John Cutler Jr. donated a heavily wooded 70-acre parcel of land to the County of Tulare for a park. The park was named in honor of the donor's father, John Cutler, who settled in Visalia in 1852. John Cutler Sr. was an area farmer who cultivated over 1,000 acres of land northeast of Visalia and was also one of Tulare County's first judges.
Located adjacent to the St. John’s River on Houston Avenue, Cutler Park serves the surrounding communities of Visalia, Farmersville, Ivanhoe, and Exeter. The park offers visitors four arbors, three restrooms, a sports field, and access to the river for relief from the summer heat.
